Most people are completely unaware of the information that can be gleaned when you visit a website. This personal information is then sold so that target marketing can be done on these visitors. The biggest question is, "who gets this private information?" What do they use it for? One of the greatest stories with technology today, is TikTok. In China, any organization, must turn over any information that the government request. This includes your personal information. Do you want that government to know what you look at or but? Yet, their own people cannot restrict the government from obtaining this information. In the American viewpoint this should not be done, and has clear ethical ramifications. However, in the Chinese society, this is acceptable. Does that make it unethical?
