Assessment Task 2: Practice Improvement Research Report - Sector Developments

Task Summary

For this assessment task, you are required to research emerging and current sector developments and choose a practice (one development) to implement at Little.ly. You are also required to create a plan to improve practice and continue professional growth in line with continually emerging sector developments

Resources and Equipment Required

Access to textbooks and other learning materials - Internet, journals, magazines and so on. Access to a computer and the Internet. Practice Improvement Research Report template (provided). Access to the Little.ly website.

Where and When this task Will be Completed

Class-based students will do this task in the classroom or as homework - advise students as to which is required. Provide students with the due date for this assessment so they can write it in their Student Assessment Booklet.

What happens if you get something wrong?

If this task is marked as Not Satisfactory (N/S), your Assessor will provide you with feedback about which parts of the task were deemed unsatisfactory or insufficient. You may need to submit the whole task again or only the parts of the task that were deemed unsatisfactory - your Assessor will advise you. Your Assessor will provide you with a due date by which you must resubmit. You have up to three attempts to achieve a Satisfactory outcome.

For this task, you will take on the role of Hayley Schramm the Director of Little.ly. Read the email from the owner below to guide you through the Assessment task. For this assessment task you are required to research emerging and current sector developments and choose a practice (one development) to implement at Little.ly. You must complete the Practice improvement Practice Improvement Research Report to send to the owners of Little.ly for review. Complete all sections of the report. Some examples include topics such as: loose parts play project approach primary caregiving wellbeing and gratitude rituals enquiry projects

Good afternoon Hayley, We have been thinking about opportunities for us as a service team to keep up to date with current and emerging sector-wide trends/practices and developments. I know we have been busy lately and haven't had a chance to get much training outside of the service. Please do some research about a current or emerging development in our sector that we can implement. I would love to know how we can apply this to our practice and also how we can access further information or training about this development. I look forward to hearing from you and reading your report. Once we have our development researched, we can add it to the QIP (Quality Improvement Plan) to support our progress. Thanks.
