Marino Enterprises has provided a small gym area exclusively for guest use. The area is very small and contains only multi-station, treadmill, spinning bike and dumb-bells. Management is considering introducing a fitness centre. It is thought that membership could be sold to local residents as well as offering the service as an add-on to guests of the accommodation side of the business. There is sufficient room in an unused area of the hotel, however a full range of facilities would need to be included. The company directors are interested in finding out more about the fitness needs of guests and local residents and ways to increase business sales. In the role of the Marketing Officer for the business, you have been asked to conduct research into the above, including trends and opportunities in the sector. As there is a limited budget only for marketing research, the owner of the business has advised that it will be necessary to identify and use secondary research information sources about the health and fitness industry, statistics and emerging trends and opportunities. newly created feedback register is also to be reviewed to identify areas or research to be conducted in elation to guest needs. The feedback register records feedback from service users and is a relatively recent itiative with feedback documented from March 2016. Page 11 of 2
