Assessment Task 2: Skill Test Information for students This is an individual assessment. This is the second (2) assessment task you must successfully complete to be deemed competent in this unit of competency. The student is required to calculate fixed and variable costs to determine retail labour rates and cost of products and services for sale in automotive service and repair workplaces. This includes: o research and compare costs from external suppliers and competitors for: two automotive workplace services one consumable item one automotive accessory product o calculate retail rates for above products and services. This assessment task is a Skills Test and you will be assessed independently on this assessment task. Your Assessor is required to directly observe you working on the different engines performing the tasks above and use the Performance checklist provided to indicate whether the step in the task has been performed as satisfactory (S) or not satisfactory (NS). You must attempt all activities of this skills test for your trainer/assessor to assess your competence in this assessment task. No marks or grades are allocated for this assessment task. The outcome of the task will be Satisfactory or Not
