B) Introduction to environmental crime. 1) Understanding "environmental".

Question 1): flora and illegal conducts.

Here Hoare's article explains illegal logging, while Veldman et. al. work with a particular type of flora illegal marketing, the orchid one. Let's work with Veldman et. al. article.

In a first (01) paragraph, explain what the socioenvironmental problem is and why it takes place.

After that, in a second (01) paragraph explain at least one (01) action that can be taken towards reducing or solving this problem, as per the authors.

Question 2): geocide and ecocide.

Here we have two (02) readings. Berat's reading departs from the international crime of "genocide" to build a new category: "geocide". In turn, Mehta & Merz (2015) work with the concept of "ecocide".

In a first (01) paragraph define "geocide", as per Berat (1993); and "ecocide", following Mehta & Merz (2015).

After that, in a second (01) paragraph compare both concepts, saying how they are similar, and how they are different.

Assignment 02. Your answer to a peer:

Choose one (01) peer that in the second part of Question 01 provided a different action to solve the problem than the one you did.

In a first (01) paragraph, salute the person and provide one (01) brief and general comment about the globality of the person's answer to question 01.

In a second (01) paragraph, provide specific comments about how the person's chosen action to solve the problem, and your chosen action to solve the problem could complement each other. Demonstrate creativity and reasonability to earn as many points as possible here.
