Configuring Local Storage and File and Share Access

OBJECTIVES

Upon successful completion of this group lab, students will be able to:

$$ use the Disk Management MMC snap$-$in to examine and configure disks

$$ modify a virtual machine by adding additional storage controllers and hard drives

$$ create a storage pool using local disk drives

$$ create a virtual disk from a storage pool

$$ create a folder share, and assign permissions to folders

OVERVIEW

In this lab you will attach an additional disk drive to your Windows server. This can be easily done if you have Windows

Server running on a virtual machine. After adding the disk, you will add the disk to a storage pool. You will also be able to

create folder shares to allow users to have permission to access folders in local storage
