ASSIGNMENT 2: FALL PREVENTION AND RESCUE (ORAL PRESENTATION)

You and your group work for a company under rapid expansion. Your current manufacturing building is undergoing renovation and expansion while manufacturing is still ongoing. The outside of your older building will be given a "face-lift," with many of the older stone facades, brickwork, and decorative features being cleaned and repaired. This will be done using several swing stages. One side of your office building will also be prepared for a blow-out addition that will include a new storage area. Roof work and new HVAC systems will also be installed during this renovation.

Your company, in order to save money for this renovation, will assume the role of constructor on this project. A General Contractor has been hired to provide labor, materials, and site supervision. As part of the agreement, you and your safety team must prepare a Fall Prevention Plan and Rescue plan for the upcoming work. Based on your knowledge of the Metron disaster and your recent training in fall prevention and working at heights, prepare a presentation for your company on the major elements of the plan. Your presentation must include elements such as:

1) Training is required for workplace parties,

2) Types of fall prevention, fall arrest, and fall awareness required

3) Rescue resources and elements in the event of a fall

4) Any other elements of a prevention and rescue plan that you deem reasonable under the circumstances.
