By far the most important legal research tool is Canlii: everyone uses it$.$

$1.$ At the bottom home page you see links for $4$ tutorials. Run at least at least the Overview ans Searching tutorials.

$2.$ Find Perka v$.$ The Queen, $(1984)2$ S$.$C$.$R$.232.$ Do the following within Perka.

a$.$ Read the summary at the top of the case; this is called the headnote. You do joy have to read past the end of the headnote. You have gone too gar if you read the heading Dickson, J$.$ Make a note of anything in the headnote you do not understand.

b$.$ Find the section in Perka that refers to R$.$v$.$ Dudley and Stephens $(1884),14$ Q$.$B$.$D$.273.$ Read that part of Perka. How does Dudley relate yo Perka?

c$.$ Find $5$ cases that cite Perka. Copy and paste the name of the cites of these cases.

d$.$ Choose one of your $5$ cases, and read its headnoye. Try to see how that case relates to Perka. Write a short paragraph that explains the relationship as best you can.
