This assignment relates to the following Course Learning Requirements:

CLR 2 - Locate and apply Canadian statutes and case law

Objective of this Assignment: To attend a Court hearing and prepare a report based on your observations. Instructions: Students will be required to attend an Ontario Court of Justice (or Criminal Court) courthouse in their area, attend a hearing, and prepare a report. All court proceedings are open to the public. Once you have located the hearing, please enter the courtroom quietly, ensure that all electronic devices are shut off, and take a seat. Simply observe the proceedings and report. For the purposes of your report please take note of the following

1. : Type of hearing (i.e. bail, trial, pre-trial)
2. Identify the Judicial Officer (Judge or Justice of the peace)
3. Identify the participants.
4. Provide your observations on court activity
5. Explain the process and outcome.
6. Explain what you learned.
