Eddy Robinson, an educator on indigenous issues, believes (see video below) that most Canadians
only have 5-10% of the whole story on the history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, including the
vicious legacy of the residential school system and the intergeneration impacts that continue to this
day as a result of colonialism. How and why is it the case that non-indigenous Canadians are so
woefully lacking awareness of Indigenous issues in Canada? Discuss.
Assignment Requirements:
- Provide 2 pages of analysis double spaced or 1 page single spaced. Though this is not a
formal research paper, students should site references, including our readings, online news
sources etc. Students are not required to use outside references but may choose to do so.
- Students should watch the video below but also reflect on and draw from course content to
date.

- is worth 5% or your final grade.

- The original due date was October 5th but since I posted this late I am leaving it as an open
deadline (to be submitted to the appropriate assignment folder on Moodle). In other words,
complete this assignment whenever you like between now and the end of the semester. I do
