Human resource management is both a theoretical and practical field. Students both need to have basic knowledge about HRM and how to use the methods and techniques introduced in HRM.
The objective of the course is to enhance student learning and mastery of Human Resource Management functions using experiential and live-case exercises.
FORMAT OF PRESENTATION

TASK
1.0 Introduction/ selecting a company
Student is required to choose a real franchise company and need to gather general information about the company (e.g. company background, brief explanation about the company product and services, vision and mission)
2.0 Job Analysis
Students would draw a primary work flow process of the company to have a general idea regarding the company jobs. You would go on and choose a job from the company to analyze using O*NET company sources. The students are informed that this job is going to be the base for the next exercises. (e.g. organization chart: Job Description and Job Specification)
3.0 Job Advertisement
In this exercise, each student has to create a job advertisement, designing a poster for the job they have already analyzed (choose only ONE position). The advertisement can be prepared for online announcement, newspapers and magazines, or other sources. Once you have illustrated the poster, you need to justify the reasons of putting those designs on the poster and also why you choose to post it at the specific sources.
4.0 Job Interview
Students are asked to prepare a selection process, interview questions, sample of employee requisition form and sample of offer letter for the advertisement you have prepared in the exercise 3.
5.0 Training
Students are asked to design a training program for the employee selected in question 3.0.
6.0 Conclusion
Give suggestions on the best techniques that company can use to can hire a qualified employee as most companies now are focusing on online recruitment and selection.
