Assignment Description:

Following the implementation of the ICD-10-CM/PCS classification system, as the coding manager, you have realized that the old productivity and performance standards are no longer a valid measurement. After discussing the situation with the HIM department director, you have been tasked with creating a new policy and procedure which outlines new productivity and performance standards, as they relate to the new ICD-10-CM/PC classification system. You are to present these new standards at the next monthly coding round table meeting. The department director, would also like for you to explain how the productivity will be calculated.

1. Create a policy/procedure for coders productivity and performance standards. Be sure to address IP, OP, and ER coders.
2. Create avoice-over Power Point presentation which outlines the following:
   1. 1. New ICD-10-CM/PCS productivity standards
      2. How the productivity standards will be calculated
      3. New performance (accuracy standards)

Your Power Point should:

1. 1. 1. Be 3 to 5 minutes in length
      2. Contain Voice-Over (at least two different people should present)
      3. Contain information about the SDLC with examples
      4. Be audience ready
      5. Appropriate use of color, font and graphics
      6. Appropriate use of Notes section with majority of information in the Notes and just highlights in the slides.
