Assuming we have steady state condition, Calculate the total amount of heat transfer within first- and second-effect evaporators along with the surface condenser.
#/HR in the diagram means "pounds/ hour", indicating mass flow rate
% indicates concentration

In this experiment a 2-effect evaporator coupled with a surface condenser is studied. Ethylene glycol (19 wt.\%) is used as feed and its concertation raised to about 50wt.% upon completion of the process (i.e., liquor product). The vapour condensate from each evaporator is collected in the "Condensate Collection Tank". The process flow diagram (PFD) of the whole system is provided as supplementary content. Apparatus: - 2-effect evaporator (rising film and falling film evaporators) - Surface condenser (with propylene glycol as coolant) - Area of first- and second- effect evaporators is 4.52m2 - Area involved in the heat transfer within Surface Condenser is 12.45m2 INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENTATION 2ND EFFECT EVAPORATOR IMIMIIDTEAN IRIETEINAEKITATIR
