At this point, you should have your problem and research design clarified and should have reviewed literature sources relating to your project. You are ready to write the Introduction section of your project paper. Refer to the sample paper provided in your textbook in Chapter $17$ as an example of formatting the title page and the paper layout. Also, refer to Chapter $16$ p$.441$ for information to include in the introduction and background. You will need to submit the title page and a page with the heading for the Table of Contents. Since you have not completed the paper at this point, you will not have the page numbers available. However, you can provide a preliminary layout for your table of contents. The Introduction will include the following information:Problem statementResearch ObjectivesPurpose statementResearch questionsProject scope$/$limitationsAuthorization of project $($who authorized the work $-$ project sponsor$)$BackgroundSignificance of the problemLiterature reviewData sources and methods of collectionDefinitions of key terms $($keep in mind that your primary audience is the client, clarify any terms$/$acronyms as appropriate$)$Report organization $($include how you plan to organize the presentation of the information within the report, but you may have to revise for your draft$)$It is not required that each of these areas be a separate heading in your paper, but it should be obvious to the reader that the information is included.Since you have not completed your research at this point, provide your proposed plans for data sources and data collection. After you have completed your project, you will need to review the Introduction section for any revisions necessary. Your instructor will provide feedback on your submission for revisions in your draft paper submission.
