Background:

In a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) a general rule is that no work package should be shorter than 1 day (later, estimated activity times are typically given in days). For this academic WBS learning assignment we will assume that estimate activity times will be in hours rather than days, and our general rule for this assignment will be no work package shorter than 1 hour. Note that at this point we are not showing estimated activity times.

Required:

Create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for a one week long vacation you would like to take. The vacation can be to anywhere, real or imaginary. Identify the location in the title. Your vacation "project" must show at least 3 but no more than 10 tasks. It must also show at least 12 but no more than 30 work packages.

Other Requirements/grading criteria:

1. WBS must be labeled with a title at the top of the page. The title should identify the location of the vacation (up to 1 point).
2. Neatness: All boxes should be the same size. Font and formating should be consistent and readable. Tasks and work packages should be connected with lines. Lines should be proper, connected to boxes, and not cross each other (up to 3 points).
3. Each activity and task should be named and that name should be meaningful and abbreviated (short enough to fit in the chart) (up to 3 points).
4. Each activity and task should be properly numbered (up to 3 points).
5. At least 3 but no more than 10 tasks. It must also show at least 12 but no more than 30 work packages (up to 3 points).
6. Word or Excel format using the built-in drawing tools. No automated WBS software allowed (up to 3 points).
7. Due end of day, December 26, 2021. As per syllabus 10% will be deducted for each day the assignment is late and no assignments will be accepted after 5 days
