Gap Analysis 1: A gap that I see is since training is customized to each employees needs, not all of the employees will have the same training which could be a good thing or bad thing. An employee might have more focus on a specific topic than another employee. The employee may present themselves in a way that they need practice in one area, but they actually need practice in three areas. Due to customized training, there may not be enough managers to have one on one training sessions with for each employee unless they start combining training sessions. Since each training is customized, the managers may not know or lose track of which employees had which training and one of the trainings may have fallen between the cracks during their on-boarding.
Gap Analysis 2: The training curriculum is unorganized, therefore can cause a major performance problem when employees start their job. The trainees are currently being sent back to teachings to learn other strategies and abilities that should have been included in the first overall training before being sent to their job tasks. Summit has personalized the training program to fit the employees requirements, the companys objectives and their proposals. Is this enough for the trainees to be able to complete their job performance? A suggestion would be for the company to do a personal analysis which can help them determine if they are ready for training. The analysis can also help to focus on how they can improve the trainees inspiration to be taught. In order to do this Summit Credit Union should be able to offer the trainees with the resources, schedule and other things that are essential for them to use before beginning the trainings. The employees need to understand what exactly they are expected to learn during the training in order to prosper in their job performance. Summit Credit Union should have a better training course that is better organized from start to finish, creating a competency model may be beneficial in their position. This way every portion of the job tasks can be covered during the training. It can also be helpful to find out if Summit Credit Union should buy versus build. If they have the time, currency and ability to either develop a better training program that includes all the competencies necessary for the tasks or go back to their initial method of off the shelf training.
