Before anyone begins to plan a meeting, they need to know what services are available in their community. Gather information on various social service agencies in your community. Internet searches are powerful tools to locate agencies in a community. Some counties publish a directory you may be able to purchase. The library may have lists of agencies you can copy, or a local agency may have compiled a directory. List at least 5 agencies/services in your community that might be involved in a service plan for a human services client. Try to make the directory you compile or obtain relevant to the area or population of Head Start children and parents you intend to work with.
