Have your values pertaining to education and your role as a teacher changed since the beginning of the term?

If so, how? If not, how have your actions as a teacher reflected your values? My values pertaining to education and my role of a teacher have not changed since the beginning of the term. One of the most important values in teaching is knowledge and being able to commit to sharing and teaching that knowledge. Another value that is important for is hard work. When you as a teacher put in hard work to teach and prepare lessons for students they in turn will appreciate what they are learning. Lastly, compassion is an important value and to be able to help students through the course regardless of their performance in the course.

Have your beliefs about education and your role as a teacher in facilitating learning changed since the beginning of the term?

If so, how? If not, how have your actions as a teacher embodied your beliefs? Yes, my beliefs have changed about education and the role as a teacher and facilitating. It is nice to have a different perspective of a teacher. You have to look at learning through a different lens and make sure the content of your lessons make sense, tie together and are challenging enough for all students. On either side being a student or being a teacher takes hard work and dedication to make sure everyone is getting the most out of the course they are taking or teaching.

Have your thoughts on how a teacher should best serve their students changed since the beginning of the term?

If so, how? If not, how have your actions as a teacher demonstrated your commitment to your students? Yes my thoughts on how a teach should best serve their students has changed. All students learn at different paces and being committed to students is important, to help those that need a little more help but make things challenging enough to those who are fast learners. That takes commitment, patience and dedication to make sure people are getting what they need to out of the course. Good teaching can't be spotted by a degree. It can only be discerned by looking at the students and their progress (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 2003).
