Building the back door to the iphone

The case study analysis method I teach across all my courses takes the following format:

Situation (declaring the facts)

Analysis (applying models and analysis to the facts)

Recommendations (offering recommendations or changes based on the two previous sections)

What are the moral dilemmas facing Cook, and how should he address them?

Which is right: favoring customer privacy or favoring national security and the right to live in a world increasingly threatened by international terrorism that is operated across the seamless borders afforded by digital technology? (Explain why you think this is the case based on what you learned in this class. I want for you to spell out what you would do if you were Cook in this situation. Put yourself in his shoes.)
