Needs to be protected

Due to their vulnerability, the elderly population is an essential demographic that must be protected. Elder vulnerability is the danger of harm or exploitation resulting from physical, mental, or emotional limitations or disabilities. Physical health, financial exploitation, and social isolation are all typical areas of vulnerability for this group. Thus, it is essential to protect the elderly population from potential harm or exploitation. Abuse and self-neglect of the elderly are frequently difficult to detect and frequently gounderdiagnosed due to the fact that vulnerable seniors rarely interact with anyone outside of their environment. Moreover, elders with cognitive impairment are frequently abused and neglected, and they may be unable to report the incident (Halphen & Burnett, 2014). Elder abuse is described as a caregiver or trusted person intentionally or negligently causing psychological or physical harm to a vulnerable elder older than 65. (Olson & Hoglund, 2014).
