NEGOTIATION ASSESSMENT (20%) DEALING WITH EXTENDED BREAKS SCENARIO Supervisors in a manufacturing company have noticed that the employees are taking advantage of the break policy. The workers have two 15-minute breaks per day on top of their one-hour lunch break. However, they have been stretching their breaks to last up to 25 to 30 minutes each. The workers complain that the factory work is so monotonous or dull that they need longer breaks. In addition, the canteen/caf is so far away that it takes too long to walk there and back. The supervisors say the company is losing hundreds of work hours per year and employees should not be paid for time they are not working. The plant manager has called a meeting to discussegotiate this issue. YOUR TASK AND GOAL Based on the situation above; discuss and negotiate the best solution and actions to deal with the problem of extended breaks. You have approximately 30 minutes to discuss.
