can you please help me reply to this post

Hi everyone,

ADHD I think can be both, It causes functional impairment, impulsivity, hyperactivity while if you look at it as a different cognitive ability they tend to focus on things of interest.Placing these personsor individuals in a supportive environmentit will bring out the best in them. Personally, no I do not know of anyone diagnosed with ADHD.

Yes,I do think children are overly medicated especially at a very young age however it is necessary for children with severe ADHD to help reduce hyperactivity, improve focus and for those struggling. I also believe treating individuals with ADHD as a disorder should be holistically pleasing while bringing forth their potential and respecting their needs as an individual.

Yes,many classrooms are design to keep children sitting still and be quite.Even our parents will talk to us,telling us to sit still when we go out or go to school. We are always told to behave our self and not to make anyone talk to much or disciple us in any way. Thirty minutes to an hour of an interrupted teaching are desires of most teachers if not all, just to get through their curriculum and or their task for the day.We all know everyone learns differently, some by repetition, visual, in stillness and even some in a not so quite environment.Which goes to show learning should include flexibility to meet each other learning styles.

No,our current learning environment is not the best one for all children to learn. Everyone learns differently and at a different pace. It's definitely not a size fits all.If teachers make learning engaging and interesting, open ways for growth and also encourage thinking .
