Can you revise my script for a presentation I am doing? The presentation is bout convincing the executive council to provide funding to create stronger safety protocols.... I.
Introduction A. Work injuries and illnesses can affect every aspect of life for workers and their families (HOSHA, 2021). B. Four of our employees suffered from dangerous burns with hazardous chemicals in March. Two employees had to stay at the hospital for over a week to recover from their injuries and are undergoing therapy. Three of these employees found new jobs because they felt unsafe returning to work for our company. They are extraordinary employees, and we have lost their talent and professionalism due to the lack of solid safety protocols. Therefore, I am asking for the help of the Executive Council to provide us with the necessary funding to implement the much-needed personal protective equipment. Implementing more robust safety protocols prevents most of these devastating events. We cannot allow any more of our employees in our company to risk getting injured for the lack of solid safety protocols. C. The safety of our employees should be our top priority to have a positive work environment. Following safety guidelines keeps workers healthy and protects their well-being. Thankfully with a well-developed safety protocol, we can prevent most possible accidents. D. We must understand the importance of safety protocols, how to analyze current protocols, propose safer measures, and implement a plan. II. Importance of Safety Protocols A. Safety protocols are vital for every worker; Protocols keep workers safe from unnecessary injuries or illnesses. The most significant benefit of adhering to a safety plan is to prevent common workplace injuries or illnesses. For example, using protective eyewear when using machinery that requires it will prevent eye injuries and the possibility of ending up blind. Safety clothing when working with dangerous chemicals. This will prevent workers from possible burns and hazardous spills on their skin. Wear face masks when working close to a group of people when social distance is impossible. Now that we know the importance of safety protocols, we will analyze our current safety guidelines. III. Analysis of Current Safety Protocols A. Overview of current safety protocols Our current safety protocols do not enforce strict rules of how our few safety protocols must be followed. So far, our current protocols only include protective eyewear; however, for the safety of our employees, we require safety clothing, face shields, and identifiable diagrams of hazardous chemicals. Also, non-slip shoes will prevent slips and fall on wet surfaces. B. The major weakness of our current safety protocol is that the rules must be enforced and transparent. Our current safety guidelines need to be enforced, and they need to be more straightforward to follow. For example, we do have protective eye eyewear on every station. yet, we do not enforce the use of protective eyewear. Our current safety protocol needs more protective gear and practical guidelines. This lack of more straightforward and more effective guidelines has caused many preventable accidents. C. Examples of incidents that highlight these weaknesses. For example, due to our lack of face protective equipment, ten employees had burns on their faces in January due to a chemical spill. For this reason, we ask for face shields to be provided at every station where hazardous chemicals will be used, along with clear instructions on how to use them. Due to the lack of face masks, more than 30 employees have contracted a dangerous virus. Face masks must be provided and enforced to prevent the spread of contagious illnesses. IV. Proposed Safety Measures A. Explanation of proposed safety measures I proposed that we use a more straightforward safety protocol. This protocol should include steps on how to follow the protocol more clearly. Next, we need to have face protective equipment on every workstation. This face protective equipment will provide splash protection from hazardous materials. Facemasks will prevent the spread of contagious illnesses. Another safety measure is safety clothing to prevent burns and spills from dangerous chemicals. Also, non-slip shoes will prevent slips and falls and clear labels of hazardous chemicals. B. Benefits of Implementing Safety Measures: There are several benefits to implementing newer and safer safety protocols. For example, enforcing protective eyewear will diminish employee eye accidents, such as preventing foreign objects or flying debris from damaging their vision. Next, implementing protective face wear will protect employees from chemical spills on their faces. The addition of facemasks will reduce the spread of dangerous illnesses. Installing labels and safety data for hazardous chemicals will prevent exposure to harmful chemicals. Safety clothing and shoes will protect employees from getting hurt or burned and from slips and fall. V. Our competitors use similar safety protocols; their accident rate is almost zero. However, my proposal is more innovative and specific to benefit our employees. VI. Implementation Plan: So how do I plan to implement this plan? To implement a successful safety protocol, I need the help of the respectful Executive Council team. Their outstanding knowledge will aid in the creation of a robust safety plan. Therefore, I respectfully ask the Executive Council to provide the funding to implement newer and better safety protocols. I will like to add that this new implementation of better safety protocols will benefit the entire company and its employees. In addition, safer protocols will bring talented candidates and happier customers. VII. Conclusion: Safety is crucial not only to the companys employees but also to their families. When employees get hurt at work, it affects their families at home and the company they work for. Accidents make a company look like an unsafe place to work and a risky company to do business with. Therefore, a more robust safety protocol will benefit the worker, company, and customers. To finalize, I will petition our Executive Council to consider the required funding to add the much-needed safety protocols.
