Carefully read the situation below. Then answer the questions below in about two complete paragraphs.

You work in sales for an electronics business that sells a diverse range of computers, printers, software, etc. You receive a minimum wage for this job, but you also work on a commission (which is a percentage of every sale). You've always taken pride in helping your customers buy exactly what they need and nothing more. In fact, many have become repeat customers who value and trust your wise advice.

Recently, however, you've discovered you can easily persuade customers to buy more expensive items than they really need. So you are now consciously and knowingly selling customers more expensive items than they need. You need this extra money for yourself and your supervisor is impressed by how much you've increased the store's revenue.

Is this an ethical issue? Why or why not? Describe at least two competing duties in this situation that would pull you in one direction or the other. What should you do in this situation? Explain.
