Case #2
You are working for Capilano Suspension Bridge, a longstanding local tourist attraction. You are happy with how your work is going. Your park includes the suspension bridge, but also the cliff walk, canopy walk, caf, and gift shop. You and your supervisor went to a tourism conference in Alberta where you made a presentation on your tourist attraction. You talked about the appeal of your attraction and also talked about the challenges of parking in a residential neighbourhood, the needs of bus tours and international tourists, best promotions, the success with tourist partners in the Lower Mainland and other issues.
Your presentation provoked plenty of good discussion during your time slot, and in the coffee break and cocktail party gathering later. However, your supervisor kept turning the participants' attention to herself and away from you, stressing that you are "a tour guide". You are a tour guide, but proud of it. You felt a little disrespected since you had worked so hard on the presentation and it had been successful. On the plane ride home, when you are alone, the supervisor somewhat grudgingly thanked you for coming with her. She also asked you to write an instruction email to all the staff about how to deliver a good presentation. You can't tell if your supervisor is asking you to do this as her way of boosting you up now, or if she is getting you to do more work for which she may take credit. Be that as it may, this is a chance to get recognition from all the other staff and to provide support to them by giving them tips on successful presentations.
Your task:
Write an email to all the Capilano Suspension Bridge staff. In the email, tell the staff the most important points on how to plan and deliver a presentation so that they can improve their presentations in the future. You may use everything you've learned in COMM 1103 to meet your goals, but do not copy directly from the textbook or any course content. Use a maximum of nm wrrde
