Case Analysis Presentation 3: Group Dynamics Flint Water Crisis Case;

Flint Water Crisis associated with the 2014 changeover of city water from Lake Huron to the Flint River for the City of Flint, Michigan. Again, different organizations, groups of employees, as well as the government, all had to work together to supply safe drinking water to the citizen of Flint. Ideally, these groups should have worked together as a high-performing work team.

1.Describe the group process involved in the decision to change the water supply from Lake Huron to the Flint River (or any such important municipal, state, or federal decision). What are the group norms, level of cohesiveness, etc. needed to make good decisions in the best interest of citizens, whether the decision-makers are local, state, or federal employees/elected officials?

2.Given the experience surrounding the Flint Water Crisis, what should the City of Flint, State of Michigan, and the federal government do now so as to not repeat the mistakes made in Flint, Michigan, and begin to work as a high-performing team?
