Case Description
You are working as an assistant manager in a property management company and you are posted to manage a club house with extensive leisure and sports facilities in a private housing estate of around 1000 flats. You have to supervise 10 staff including programme staff, counter staff and workman. You have to report to the manager of the estate management office.
Recently, you have noticed the following staff problems in your team:
A, a counter staff, working for 1 year, a young lady with QF3 qualification, often late for 15 to 30 minutes without sound reasons and recently turns to be quite emotional and depressed. One staff mentions that she has recent quarrels with her boyfriend.
B, a programme staff, working for 3 years, a young man with QF4 qualification in leisure studies, is frequently on sick leaves. Even he returns to work, he brings different kinds of medicine with him and put them on his office desk. He can not concentrate himself in performing his job requirements, especially those outdoor duties. His performance is deteriorating.
C, an office assistant (), working for over 10 years with QF2 qualification only, is a middle aged housewife with two children. Her husband becomes unemployed recently. Thus, she is the sole breadwinner of the family. However, all along, she pays much attention to her family affairs, especially in child parenting. She always takes leave if her two children have any health or schooling problem. She is quite unmotivated to take up tasks and can only achieve minimal performance. The other staff is also afraid of working with her as she has always presented A-shoulder syndrome that she is reluctant to share responsibilities. Her salary has reached the ceiling. Recently, she is quite upset to the unemployment of her husband. She is quite emotional towards the club members. Several complaints on her impolite and rude attitude have been received.
