Case study 1: Given its increasing activity and continuous expansion, Casa Vostra has a dynamic Human Resources (HR) department. This department is led by Allen, an ambitious HR manager. Allen has managed so far to recruit very qualified persons in all the company positions. At the end of 2021, Casa Vostra decided to open new branches and to recruit additional four additional cooks and 10 waiters. Consequently, the HR department has been asked to proceed with the recruitment process as per Casa Vostra recruitment policy, knowing that the policy requires first to advertise the vacancies in at least three local newspapers and on three specialized websites. Allen, the Casa Vostra HR manager, is at the same time a shareholder in a Culinary school that trains students for jobs as chefs and cooks to meet the needs of Casa Vostra, Allen decided to reward the top 4 honor students at this school by recruiting them in the vacant positions at Casa Vostra restaurant. He thought that doing so will be a nice reward for the honor students, from one side. And from another side, it is useful for the restaurant who will gain the best graduated cook without having to go through a recruitment procedure. At the annual business dinner organized by Casa Vostra, Allen had to announce, based on the management request, that Casa Vostra will be expanding soon and that they will have new job opportunities for freshly graduated people. In his announcement about these positions, Allen encouraged all those who have required qualifications to apply for the positions.
