Case Study $2$: Purchase Order Scenario

In the wake of the worldwide pandemic, Jetstream needed to react from an ongoing to request

for employees to work remotely from home. They decided that select departments and

functions would be able to implement a work schedule to allow them to work from home $3$

days a week. One such department was the parts supply team for Eastern Canada. The

Operations Manager for the team decided that his team of analyst would need new laptop

computers to support this work from home initiative. He received purchase approval from his

director for $$12000$ to cover the costs of all of the laptops. This amounted to $12$ computers.

To start the process, he needed to fill out a requisition form to give to the purchasing

department. His knowledge and technical skills with computer hardware were basic. Talking

with his team he discovered that the preferred screen size was a $15\mathrm{.}6$ and that Intel processors

would give them the required speed and reliability. He left it up to the purchasing department

to develop the rest of the specs and source what is best. He communicated to purchasing

department that it must come within in his budget. He also mentioned that if they were able to

come under budget he would be pleased as he could apply those savings to other purchases in his department.

$2.$ Given the information provided in the case scenario, you are to fill out a purchase requisition form.

$3.$ Using the information provided from the requisition and your research, you are to fill out a purchase order form. Research laptop computers. Develop the remaining specifications outside of the two that you are given in the requisition. Find a source, model number and price for the computers. Fill out all these details on a P$.$O$.$ and sign it$.$

$4.$ In a word document, write a brief one to two paragraph explanation to discuss why your team decided to go with the specific laptops that you have decided to purchase for the company.
