Overcash, Tan, Patel, and Noonan (2018) devised a study to understand the relationship among six factors (functional status [grip strength, Time Up and Go Test], cognition, depression, pain, and fatigue) and poor sleep in older women with breast cancer. The researchers focused on common health issues in survivorship care of older adults treated for breast cancer that may be associated with developing a chronic sleep disorder. They obtained a convenience sample of 60 women aged 69 or older who were receiving cancer care in a senior program at an outpatient breast center in Ohio.
