Case Study-Improving performance through training and development

You have been employed as the Talent Development Specialist at Grumpy Inc. Your department is responsible for manufacturing cost-effective wireless printers. Wireless printers are in demand for various reason, save energy, they are quick and reliable.Taking into account the current energy crisis in the country, the majority of companies are considering these printers. You have identified three (3) technicians who are struggling to perform as expected. These technicians have been recently appointed, following the organisations growth strategy and high demand for their product wireless printers.These technician are not meeting their deadlines, which causes delays in the entire production line.You had some interactions with them, and they have indicated that they have challenges with the new system that has been procured by the organisation to fast track the production ramp-up. Your task is to develop a Technician Development Programme to train these technicians.

It is every technicians aspirations to be a higher performer.Thetechnician development programmeshould have the following characteristics:

• Goals and metrics.
• Leadership buy-in.
