Does this answer surprise you? Most Americans will try to tell you "that the Earth pulls harder on the moon than the Sun because it is closer and that is why it stays in orbit around the earth."

So then, why does the Moon stay in orbit around the Sun? Give this some thought and give me your best physics explanation for why from everything you learned thus far.
