Chapter 11 Assignment: Work Plan Format Directions: Use the format below to create a real Work Plan for your Chapter 13 Analytical Report. Make sure to include information relevant to the purpose of your report (do not include historical/geographical data). This assignment is critical to your final analytical report, so it is important that you complete the work plan accurately. Statement of Problem (This is from problem 13.13 on page 515; you may use this exact information for your statement of problem.) U.S. businesses are expanding into foreign markets with manufacturing plants, sales offices, and branches abroad. Most Americans, however, have little knowledge of or experience with people from [other cultures]. To prepare for participation in the global marketplace, we must collect information about [your chosen country] so that our companys expansion abroad will be successful. Statement of Purpose - This is the purpose of your report. You will create an expanded statement of purpose that addresses: scope, limitations, and significance. What will your report cover? Why should the audience read your report? What would happen if the audience didnt read your report? What are some things your report will not cover? Again, see problem 13.13 (Your Task) for guidance here. Research Strategy Where do you plan to find your sources for your report? Make sure to identify primary and secondary sources. If you do not know what primary/secondary sources are, read chapter 11. (Do not just list online. Remember all sources must be credible.) Tentative Outline You should have three to five topics with some subtopics (use this alphanumeric outline format). See problem 13.13 as well as Figure 13.6 for ideas for your topics such as Social Customs, Value Systems, Economic Institutions, etc. Note: This is not a history report!
