6. Students are to select a research problem (or question) and outline this issue in terms of: units of analysis; hypotheses; the variables involved: dependent, independent, control, with specification of those that are discrete and continuous; and the relationship between these variables, with indications of direction and magnitude.

7. Identify a research topic. The best strategy for your selection process will involve visiting the library and accessing professional journals in a particular area of interest. Then, you should respond to the following:

a. Indicate WHY they selected this topic (personal interest, potential for theory testing or project evaluation, etc.).

b. What is the unit of analysis in the study?

c. What is the research problem that is addressed?

d. What ethical issues, if any, were confronted by the researchers
