An enormous amount of data has been collected related to the COVID-19 coronavirus since it struck the United States in early 2020. Using this data set, https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality from the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, which shows cases and mortality data by country, do the following:

1. Sort the data from largest to smallest according to the confirmed numbers of cases. What are the top ten countries with the highest numbers of confirmed cases? ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________

For the top country, by what percent does it lead the country with the second-greatest number of confirmed cases? Show your calculations. ________________________________________________________________________________

2. Sort the data from largest to smallest according to the number of COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 people in the population. What are the top ten countries with the highest numbers of COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 people? ________________________________________________________________________________

3. Make a bar graph that summarizes what you found in part 2 above, so that your graph shows the numbers of COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 people in the population for the top 10 countries with the highest values. Be sure to label the horizontal and vertical axes of your graph. What questions come to mind as you reflect on your graph? Do the gaps between countries seem large? Why do you think this could be? Feel free to cite some sources to support your conclusions.
