Assignment $2$ Needs Assessment Example and Learning Outcomes

This assignment consists of two parts and can be done individually or in pairs. Working in pairs may help those students whose work experience is limited as well as lighten the workload for this assignment. Ensure that one person in the pair has a solid choice for work environment or industry. Pairs will not be assigned. If you are interested in working with someone else, please post to the discussion area where you can connect with other students are who are interested in the same. Please note that each student in a pair is responsible for being in communication with one another well and for sharing the workload evenly. The assignments will be marked the same, whether they are individual or in done by pairs and students working in pairs will both receive the same grade.

In this assignment, you will use your own organization or your industry to complete some of the groundwork needed to do a Needs Assessment. If you are working in pairs, you will choose the organization or industry of one person. The assignment has two parts.

In Part $1,$ you will provide the following:

Brief description of the organization. Though you don$$t need to name the organization, it$$s important to provide some detail on the industry, the environment, the structure, and any other relevant information that helps provide context.

An example of $$organizational pain$.$ Identify a specific performance issue that could be a concern for the owners of the business. Examples could include a drop in revenues, workplace safety issues, customer complaints, bad press, etc.

Supporting Data. List the kind of data you could collect to demonstrate the $$pain$$ or better understand the issue? Indicate how you would collect that data.

Training Solution. Presuming training is at least part of the solution, briefly describe the kind of training you would propose for this issue.

Effective transfer of learning. With the solution you$$ve proposed, what would you do to ensure the training was effective? Explain ways you would keep the skills and knowledge $$alive$$ after the training has been completed.

Please note that you may be identifying training that is already offered in your organization or industry. If that is the case, ensure that you consider how you will improve the training to better address the $$organizational pain$$ or issue. Part $1$ should be about $3-5$ pages $($allowing for single spacing in paragraphs and some spacing for formatting$)$
