Cloud Computing is gaining importance. Several organizations have already moved in this direction, especially since the pricing models and technology solutions seem to be attractive. You can develop an enterprise-level technology strategy for cloud computing and SaaS/IaaS/PaaS for your organization by following the steps below. Identify the different business applications in your organization (e.g. E-mail, Order fulfillment, customer service, E-Procurement etc.). Indicate which business applications are more amenable to cloud computing and SaaS applications with reasons. If some applications cannot be brought under the cloud computing model, indicate reasons for the same. Discuss the benefits of moving to the Cloud computing model for each application (or business process identified in Step 2). You may want to include the ROI (return on investment) analysis. For example, to assume $50 per seat per license for Google mail and other such similar applications is reasonable. Many of the ideas for the assignment can come from the readings for this module. Assume you are a senior manager at your current/past organization. Arrive at a cloud strategy for your organization by following the above steps.
