CMIT 225 Packet Tracer Labs
Packet Tracer Lab Static Routing
Topology
Objectives
Design a three network subnetting scheme
Configure two routers for static routing
The Server from Network A and a PC in Network C must ping each other
Scenario
This lab increases the complexity a bit by adding an additional router and network to our environment. This will create three separate networks where Network A is unaware of Network C. Static routing will be used to achieve convergence allow the PCs to ping each other.
We will also introduce the Packet tracer Server Object.
Instructions
1. Use the 1941 for the routers
a. Connect the router with a cross-over cable

2. Use the Catalyst 2950-24 for the switches
3. Place a Server Object and one PC in Network A and two PCs in Network C
4. Design an IP address scheme for the three networks
a. Make all the networks Class C
5. Configure the router, PCs, and Server Object with the appropriate IP settings
6. Configure static routes for the stub networks on each router so Network A know the path to Network C and vice-versa
7. Ping between the Server Object and the PCs in Network C
Notes
The Catalyst 2950-24 switches are managed switches but use them as unmanaged for this lab. No switch configuration beyond plugging in cables is necessary
Document the lab in accordance with the CMIT 225 Packet Tracer Documentation Standards
Placing two PCs in each network can aid in troubleshooting routing errors
