COLLAPSE I want to model the cost of home prices vs. inflation. This is a topic of concern today, with many people trying to be first-time home buyers. Home prices have rapidly increased over the past 50 years, significantly outpacing inflation rates by 150% since 1970. Interesting fact: if home prices grew at the same rate inflation did since 1970, today the median price for a house would be $177,778 instead of today's median price of $408,100. We can utilize scatterplots to see the correlation, but I expect to see a weak positive correlation as the gap between the two is significant. The best way to look at this data will be with a line graph. As you will be able to visualize how home prices have outpaced inflation, we will be able to see how they start about the same, and as the decades pass, the gap between the two gets bigger. what is a good response to this post ?
