COM- Workplace Communications class.
Instructions Please complete all three tasks and submit 4 separate files. (1 file for task 1; 1 file for task 2; & 2 files for task 3.)
Task 1: Several employees are responsible for closing out the store at night. Occasionally, however, other employees may need to know what needs to be done. Using the notes provided in the company materials (Notes on Closing the Store), write instructions for the nightly closing of the store. There are three areas of need for instruction: the store itself; the cash registers; and the coffee shop (which has its own cash register). You may choose to provide separate instructions for each; or you may decide to do one set of instructions using color, heads, etc., to differentiate. Ultimately, you will have one of the following:

Deliverable for Part 1
- 1 set of instructions with the three areas included but clearly differentiated so that a person could find whichever segments or parts are needed.
Task 2: A customer has written a letter of complaint about one of the clerks. The CEO and General Manager believe that, with the exception of her leaving the store while an angry customer remained was not appropriate, she handled the situation as best she could. You have the Incident Report, the Letter to the Customer, and the Letter from the Customer. The difficulty in this letter is letting the customer know that, although you want to help make things right, the clerk will not be fired.

- Letter to the customer advising him of how OM will handle his case and what will happen to the clerk he has recommended firing.
Task 3
A clerk failed to follow through on approving and cutting a check for rare book purchase. The book was ultimately purchased by another bidder and now there is no copy of the book available. The customer had paid $250 upfront for the book; more importantly, the book was crucial to his research. You must contact the customer with the bad news and secure a check to refund his money. You have the Search & Purchase Notes and the Email from the Customer.
