Maybe I am a bit nave and dont know much about business, but I believe our existing government is setup very well to support business and consumers. This makes democracy the best government structure to support businesses. Our current government is structured with regulations to protect businesses and consumers. In general, free countries have more opportunities for business than partially free or not free countries (Rapucci, 2015). This is one of the reasons people travel to the United States from all over the world to experience the American dream. Countries that are focused on human rights and have transparency are more stable and a better environment for business. Businesses need democracy because the government can set rules that keep the free market and business landscape free and fair (Henderson, 2021). According to a study conducted at MIT, democracy fosters economic growth. The countries that have switched to a democratic government experienced a 20 percent increase in gross domestic product (Dizikes, 2019). The study also showed that the countries that did switch to a democratic structure did so because of economic distress (Dizikes, 2019).

Because of the information found in my research I still believe a democratic government is still the best government for business. To further defend this stance, the United States government offers grants, contracts, and small business loans to help establish businesses.
