comment on this: One way I have seen the workforce change is baby boomers retiring. My current employer has been losing a lot of experienced workers because the baby boomer generation is retiring. There has also been turn-over at my job because more desirable jobs in the area have been opening up due to people retiring. There has been a big loss of more senior workers the past few years. There are always new hires and people in training which has resulted in slower production and sometimes mandated overtime to catch up on work. A benefit from getting a newer generation in the workforce is that they have brought in more technology and robotics. With the younger generations being more tech savvy the new software and robotics have been easily adapted to. My employer has also taken the opportunity to pay a higher wage to retain its workforce. They have also added perks like free education and a better paid time off policy. There has also been the opportunity for employees to switch to a job or shift that is more desirable to them.
