What do you consider are some of the problems that affect supply chain management success?

The success of your business is inextricably linked to the performance of your supply chain. (Logistics Bureau, 2016) Common factors that usually affect the supply chain management success include things such as decline in profit margin and changes in product demand. Other factors that can affect the success of the supply chain are challenges that the company faces or companies lacking the tools to maintain the success theyre seeking. The decline in profit margin can cause major issues for any company but so can the changes in demand. Problems from changes in demand can cause problems for the company whether demand spikes or declines. If a company has a spike in demand but dont have the product to supply that spike, the consumer will likely go to the competitor which affects the success of the supply chain. If a company were try to accommodate for the spike in demand to late, this would most likely cause them to have to cut prices which would lead to a loss in profit margin.

Using at least two current examples, discuss effective supply chain strategies that were used by a company to positively impact organizational effectiveness and yield desirable results.

Effect supply chain strategies typically have several things in common to include strong leadership, good supply chain design, and an eye on always looking to improve where improvements can be made. A current example of an effective supply chain strategy that companies use is aligning the supply chain with business goals by integrating sales and operations planning with corporate business planning. (Slade, 2017) Another current strategy that is being used by companies around the world is ensuring a reliable and predictable supply.(Slade, 2017) By aligning company goals with the focus of the supply chain included in the goals, the company is ensuring that the supply chain strategies match the companys overall outlook. By making sure the company has a reliable and predictable supply this directly contributes to the success of the company. Both of these strategies are used by companies and have a positive impact on organizational effectiveness and yield desirable results.
