Commitment to a newly defined goal or desired future has an energizing effect," is true for a few reasons. Setting a new goal and having a new desire is exciting for people and families. Having something to look forward to is encouraging for many while the struggles of life can get us down. Being committed to your goals and desires can give a new sense of energy to complete or work towards the final product. The textbook states $"$As families identify needs, their focus turns to finding ways to fulfill those needs" $($Moore & Asay, $2021,$ p$.5).$ In following through with this statement families then begin to identify their goal and begin to draw up a plan that will help push them to meet their goal. They take this plan and follow it and put the plan into action. The idea is for the family to be fully committed to this process so they can have the desired outcome. During the process, they are working with one another and becoming excited and energized as they get closer and closer to the final product. An example from my own life is school. Going through high school and completing high school was a great goal, but most people go to high school and finish so for me going to college was a new goal to complete. Since I started school last year I have been committed to the whole process. I set the goal of graduating and I have planned out a route that best fits me$.$ I attend regular meetings with my advisor and continue to get excited and energized with each new semester that comes and goes because I know that I am one step closer to achieving my goal. I have set a plan since my first semester and I have put it into place. I have stuck with the plan this far and I plan to stick with it until I graduate. The goal will not only be organized while working through but will also be a relief that the goal was achieved because the process went as smoothly as possible because of the plan that I put in place.
