Students will evaluate the business environments of a company identified as a worst company to learn why it is not successful.

PROMPT:

Choose a worst company that interests you from the following list of $10$ companies. The hyperlink should take you to the company's website. These are companies included by Maggie McGrath in Forbes $(2019)$ as Bottom of the Barrel companies. To give you some perspective, these worst companies were ranked as "firms that had the lowest scores in areas like worker treatment and environmental impact. In some cases, a low ranking $[$was$]$ also a matter of transparency; without proper data, disclosures and standards around corporate behavior, it$$s impossible to know where a company truly stands". This term you will research and evaluate the company you choose to determine its relationship and problems in the $6$ business environments and if it has or is engaged in measures to improve its ranking.

For this first week's assignment, write a paper that provides the following information. You will need to do some initial research about the company you select.

Identify and describe the company you selected. Include: What is the company's exact name, headquarters, type of business, and global presence?

Briefly describe why the company is considered a worst.

Briefly explain why you believe this company, with its worst issues, is your choice as a case study to explore the $6$ business environments. You do NOT need to analyze each business environment at this point. This is simply a preliminary statement.

Properly list in your References a source where you found the company listed as a worst company. This can be the McGrath article in Forbes mentioned above $($citation below$)$ or another source you found that discusses your selected company as a worst either as employer, customer problem, or similar serious issue that you have discussed in your paper. The reference source must clearly identify the company as a worst in some respect.
