Consider a Bottom-Up versus Top-Down approach to construct development. Suppose we wanted to develop a construct called "Emotional Intelligencs (EI)". What would a Bottom-Up approach look like? Also, if using a Top-Down approach, who would the Subject Matter Experts be, and why? Finally, which approach if either do you think would provide a better basis for constructing a test of EI?
