Consider that you/your group is preparing to submit a proposal for a Lean Six Sigma project to your organization's senior executives and some of the key customers. You want to give a good impression at the beginning, so you want to have fresh coffee available for all participants when they arrive for the meeting. You know that there will be about 20 participants. You must make the coffee onsite. Purchasing from a vendor is not an option. Your high-level process must contain 5 to 10 steps.

1. Create a SIPOC diagram for obtaining and preparing coffee service for all participants in the presentation. All you know is that you have a coffee pot available.

2. Create a flowchart that documents the detailed process that you have taken to make the coffee ready for the meeting: Remember that the flowchart should be 3 to 4 times as detailed as the SIPOC.
