Consider the following current examination procedure at a local higher education institute. The exam schedule has to be prepared by the operations clerk and sent for the approval of Director Board. Once approved, it's informed to the relevant examiners, students and printing division by the operations clerk. First examiner prepares the examination paper with model answers according to the schedule and it is sent to the second examiner to be moderated. Second examiner will send back the moderated paper along with the comments by filling the Moderation Form. Then the first examiner will revise the question paper based on the comments and submit the final paper to the printing division under a sealed envelope. One month prior to the examination, students have to get registered for the examination. Duly completed registration form has to be submitted to the admissions clerk. The students, who have not completed the minimum requirements of attendance, have to provide medical certificates with the registration form. Printing division will receive the registered student list and will print the papers accordingly. On the examination-day, students will receive the question papers and while writing the answers they have to mark their attendance by signing the attendance sheet. The answer scripts will be collected and handed over to the first examiner. The first examiner will mark the answer scripts and will put the marks. These answer scripts will then be sent to the second examiner for second marking. Once the first examiner receives the moderated marks, he will issue the final marks. Based on the marks students will receive the Grades. (Ex: A+, A, A-, B+). If the student is not satisfied with the grade, he can fill the re-correction form within two weeks of receiving the results. If there is any change of the marks, the board of directors have to approve it. And also board of directors are interested in receiving number of repeat students, number of students who have failed all subjects, number of absent students for the examination at the end of each semester. The Director Board of the institute decided to computerize the current process of examination. Assume that you are hired as the analyst to propose a computerized system to handle the examination procedure so it will be a standardized secured model. Answer the following questions using SSADM. 1. Develop a Business Activity Model (BAM) 1 to show the current business activities and their inter connections during the examination process. (10 marks) 2. List down functional and non-functional requirements for the proposed system. (20 marks) 3. Identify external entities and draw a context diagram to show the overview of the present system. (30 marks) 4. Draw a Level-0 diagram for the context diagram in (c) to show further decomposed processes. (30 marks) 5. Design the user interface to enter marks and discuss appropriate validation techniques.
