Consider yourself a consultant advising a client as whether they should add the scope of importing to their supply chain.

 

Choose an existing company (or make up a mythical company) that doesn't import today, but wants to consider doing so, and hires you as a consultant to analyze the viability of it. Consider only companies (or mythical ones) that neither import or export in their present operation.

 

Your problem statement in DMAIC is "Company X has an opportunity for business growth as an importer of Y".  Build the business case that analyzes the problem/opportunity and develops a recommendation (Improve).  Put together the presentation as if you were presenting to the CEO or other executives of the client company.
