Consider four purchases that you have either made recently or are currently making. One purchase should be of a product that you consider expensive (e.g. a phone), a second should be an inexpensive item (e.g. milk). Describe the decision-making process that you went through for each of the products in detail. Which purchase was more important to you?

Now, in the case of the Expensive product, think of yet another purchase that was significantly higher priced but that you thought about less. Why? Finally, in the case of the lower priced item think of a product that you bought that cost less but that you considered more carefully again why was this the case?

If done properly your submission will have discussed the purchase of four products. Your submission should include a discussion of perceived risk, involvement and the decision-making models involved in each scenario.
